Do you have a water cooler at work? We all know that we should drink around 8 glasses of water a day, however, the average water consumption of a working person in the UK is actually half of this… That’s not so good!
We took a look at the benefits of having a water cooler:
It's the law!
Ok. Maybe it’s not the law to have a water cooler, however, The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 requires UK employers to provide employees with an “adequate supply of wholesome drinking water”. This is easily achieved with a water cooler.
Nipping to the shop for a cold drink may only take 15 minutes. But do that every day for a month & you’ve lost almost 5.5 hours of employee working time a month. At £10 an hour thats a whopping £55 loss per employee per month!
Around 75% of the human brain is made up of water. Mild dehydration of just 1-2% can have a severe impact on performance. In fact, it can impact cognitive performance by around 25%.
We all like to do our bit for the environment, but the reality is we need to align our environmental actions with ease, otherwise they can sometimes feel a little bit of a chore. Watercoolers help promote the use of reusable bottles, therefore saving packaging waste to landfill. We recommend grabbing a bpa free reusable off our chums at FRANK WATER.
